Lileana Blain – Cruz is a director from New York City and Miami. She is currently studying for her MFA in directing at the Yale School of Drama, where she has directed Cavity, Buffalo Maine, Tall Skinny Cruel Cruel Boys, and The Taming of the Shrew. She is one of the co-artistic directors of the 2011-2012 Yale Cabaret,  where she previously directed Salome; Vaska Vaska, Glöm; and Hollow Roots. She is a co-founder and director of the ensemble company Overhead Projector, which devises new work, an Artistic Associate of The Exchange & The Orchard Project, and a member of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab. Lileana served as Assistant Director to Bartlett Sher on the Broadway revival of Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. As the Allen Lee Hughes Directing Fellow at Arena Stage, Lileana assisted directors Lee Breuer, Tazewell Thompson, and Paulette Randall.  She is a graduate of Princeton University. Lileana's production of Gertrude Stein’s Doctor Faustus Lights the Lights will be presented at the Yale School of Drama from October 25 thru 29, 2011.
